Love, Loss, and Healing: Featuring The Death On The Daily Podcast

blog Oct 08, 2024

This week has been filled with exciting projects and collaborations, one of which is particularly close to my heart. I had the honour of recording a podcast episode with Tanya Wilkinson, the founder of Green in the Grey and the host of the Death on the Daily podcast.

A Journey of Transformation

Tanya and I first met several years ago when she trained with our coaching academy. I had the privilege of supporting her as a coach during her transition from her corporate role as Head of Marketing at Formula 1 to launching her own organisation, Green in the Grey.

During our coaching sessions in 2022, Tanya navigated the difficult process of loss with her beloved Grandad. Our heartfelt conversations about death opened a sacred space in our partnership. It was an honour to support her in being present with her Grandad, fostering a sense of connection and closure as he transitioned from this physical realm.

Turning Pain into Power

Tragically, last year, Tanya faced another devastating loss—the death of her baby girl, Ngākau Raiona. In the depths of her grief, Tanya transformed her pain into purpose by creating the Death on the Daily podcast to honour Ngākau Raiona’s legacy. This platform allows her to share her journey and support others navigating the complexities of death and grief, particularly parents facing bereavement.

As Tanya shared with me, Ngākau Raiona's name means "Lioness Heart" in Māori, a fitting tribute to the strength and love that inspires the podcast. In her words, “This podcast is very much me and our little lioness roaring in our truth.”

Tune In to Our Conversation

I invite you to listen to our heartfelt discussion on Love, Death, and Embracing Life's Impermanence. You can catch the episode on various platforms:

Additionally, I highly recommend checking out Episode 1 of Tanya’s podcast, where she shares her personal journey of love, loss, death, and grief. Listening to it is an incredibly moving experience—touching, powerful, and beautifully profound. ❤️

Normalizing Conversations About Death

The topic of death is often shunned in society, particularly in Western cultures. Normalising these conversations is essential, and being part of this mission resonates deeply with me.

If you are currently navigating a loss or experiencing grief, know that you are not alone. I hope this blog post and Tanya's podcast provide you with hope and encouragement during this challenging time.

Much love,
